Cheeseburgers with bacon and Brander mayonnaise

Cheeseburgers with bacon and Brander mayonnaise - Oliehoorn

Ingredients

for 4 pieces

  • 500 grams of half-and-half minced meat
  • 2 teaspoons coarse mustard
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 2 handfuls of breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tomatoes
  • some lettuce leaves
  • ± 200 grams of bacon
  • 4 slices of plain cheese or cheddar
  • a few sweet and sour pickles
  • Brander mayonnaise

Here's how to make it

  1. Finely chop the shallot and finely chop the garlic or use a garlic press.
  2. Put the minced meat in a bowl along with the shallot, garlic, mustard, egg and some breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper. Knead the minced meat well. Still think the mixture is a little too wet? Then add a little extra breadcrumbs. Knead four burgers from the mince.
  3. Slice open the hamburger buns and place the buns on the barbecue with the cut edges for a few minutes so you get nice grill marks. You can also use a grill pan.
  4. Put a frying pan on the heat and place the bacon in the pan. Fry the bacon and then drain briefly on a paper towel.
  5. Coat the burgers with a very small layer of oil to prevent sticking and place them on the barbecue. Grill them for 10 minutes until done. Would you prefer a burger that is a little more pink? Then grill your burgers a little shorter. No barbecue on hand? Then get a grill pan or frying pan well heated and fry your burgers in it.
  6. Meanwhile, slice the tomato and pickle.
  7. Spread the burger buns with a thick layer of Brander mayonnaise. Top with lettuce, then a burger and top with the cheese, bacon, pickle and tomato. Stick in a wooden skewer, if desired, and your homemade cheeseburgers are ready.
  8. Serve with fries and extra Brander mayonnaise.

Enjoy your meal!
