Dürüm chicken shawarma with garlic sauce
Ingredients for the Dürüm chicken shoarma with garlic sauce
- 500 grams of chicken breast
- 1 ½ tablespoons shoarma seasoning
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 red onion
- 1 bell bell pepper
- 2 tomatoes
- 100 grams of iceberg lettuce
- 150 grams of carrot julienne
- 4 (dürüm) tortillas
for the garlic sauce:
- 6 tablespoons Oliehoorn mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons of yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 2 cloves of garlic
- some fresh chives or parsley
Here's how to make it
- Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and cut the onion into half-moons. Also cut the bell bell pepper into thin strips. Slice the tomatoes.
- Heat some oil in skillet and add the chicken, shoarma seasoning and a clove of chopped garlic. Fry the chicken for 10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Halfway through, add the onion and bell bell pepper and fry for a few more minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the garlic sauce. Stir together the yogurt, mayonnaise and honey. Squeeze two cloves of garlic and stir in. Finally, add a little chopped chives or parsley.
- Place a tortilla on a large plate and spread with a thin layer of garlic sauce. Then spread some lettuce and carrot julienne over the tortilla. Spoon some of the chicken mixture on top and a few tomato slices. Roll up tightly and then cut in half. Repeat with the rest of the tortillas until all ingredients are used up.
- Serve with some more of the homemade garlic sauce.
Enjoy your meal!
