Cheese onion rösti with curry sauce

Cheese onion rösti with curry sauce - Oliehoorn inspiration

Rösti: originally a breakfast dish from Switzerland, but here mainly known as an ingredient for dinner. And as true potato eaters, we love a different way of preparing one of our favorite ingredients: potatoes. Especially when it tastes as good as in the recipe below!

Ingredients for the cheese onion rösti

for 4 persons

Here's how to make it

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Also grate the onion.
  2. Put the potato and onion in a bowl. Add the egg, cheese and smoked paprika. Season with a little pepper.
  3. Fold everything together well.
  4. Put a frying pan on the stove and heat the butter or oil. Spoon the rösti mixture into the pan and press down well.
  5. Fry the rösti for 10 minutes over medium-high heat and with the lid on the pan. Then carefully turn it over using a large plate.
  6. Then fry the other side for 10 minutes on medium-high heat with the lid on the pan. Make sure the rösti does not get too dark.
  7. Then slide it onto a large plate and cut into pieces. Serve with curry.
